Did you Know

Did you know… delivering safe, reliable water takes an extensive system of infrastructure working behind the scenes every day?

From wells and pumps to pipelines, storage tanks, and monitoring systems, water doesn’t just appear at the tap, it’s carefully managed, treated, and delivered through a complex network that requires ongoing maintenance and investment.

As our region faces changing weather patterns and increasing demands, maintaining and upgrading this infrastructure is essential to ensure water reliability now and in the future. That’s why BCVWD continues to invest in projects that strengthen our system and protect water quality for our community. Reliable water starts long before you turn on the faucet.

Summer Water-Saving Tip

Planning a backyard BBQ or family cookout this summer?

Here’s a simple way to save water before you even fire up the grill: plan ahead and thaw frozen foods in the refrigerator instead of using running water.

Many people use running water to speed up the thawing process, but a little advance planning can help conserve water while also keeping meal preparation convenient and safe.

Looking for a few more ways to save water this summer?

  • Keep a pitcher of cold drinking water in the refrigerator instead of running the tap until it gets cold.
  • Scrape food scraps into the trash or compost instead of rinsing them down the sink.
  • Run dishwashers only when they are full.
  • Check outdoor faucets and hoses for leaks before your next BBQ or gathering.

Small changes can add up to meaningful water savings over time.

At BCVWD, we encourage residents to look for simple opportunities to use water efficiently, especially during the warmer summer months when water demand is typically at its highest.

BCVWD Receives Sixth Consecutive Budget Excellence Award

Beaumont-Cherry Valley Water District is proud to announce that it has received the California Society of Municipal Finance Officers (CSMFO) Operating Budget Excellence Award for its Fiscal Year 2026 Operating Budget and 2026–2030 Capital Improvement Budget. This marks the sixth consecutive year the District has earned this statewide recognition.

The award recognizes public agencies that demonstrate excellence in financial planning, transparency, and communication. BCVWD’s budget serves as a roadmap for how ratepayer funds are invested to support daily operations, infrastructure improvements, and long-term water reliability.

In response to this highly recognized fiscal award, Board Vice President Andy Ramirez said, “Behind every infrastructure project, every operational improvement, and every investment in water reliability is a carefully developed financial plan. The Water District is committed to responsible stewardship of ratepayer funds, ensuring that today’s decisions support the long-term needs of our community while maintaining transparency and accountability.”

A well-planned budget helps ensure the District can maintain and improve critical infrastructure, respond to future needs, and continue providing safe and reliable water service to our community. The recognition reflects the District’s ongoing commitment to responsible financial management and long-term planning.

We are honored to receive this recognition and remain committed to providing exceptional service, responsible financial management, and reliable water service for the residents and businesses we serve.

Backflow Testing Reminder

Protecting water quality is one of Beaumont-Cherry Valley Water District’s highest priorities. One of the ways we do that is through our annual backflow prevention testing program.

Earlier this year, BCVWD mailed backflow testing notices to customers with required backflow prevention devices, including many commercial properties, multi-family communities, irrigation systems, fire sprinkler systems, and other specialized water connections.

What is backflow?

Backflow occurs when an unexpected change in water pressure causes water to flow in the opposite direction. When that happens, water from a property could potentially enter back into the public water supply, creating a possible health risk. Backflow prevention devices are designed to stop that from happening and help protect the safety of our drinking water.

Annual testing helps verify that these devices are functioning properly and continue to provide protection for both the property owner and the community’s water system.

Testing reports were due June 1, 2026. Customers who have not yet submitted their completed test results may receive a reminder notice in the coming weeks.

Questions about your backflow device or testing requirements? Please reach out to backflow@bcvwd.gov or call our office at (951) 845-9581.

Thank you for helping us protect safe, reliable drinking water for our community.

Investing in Reliable Water Service for Our Community

At the May 28, 2026 meeting, the Beaumont-Cherry Valley Water District Board of Directors approved a project to rehabilitate Well 25 and repair pumping equipment to be reused in Well 1.

While much of this work happens behind the scenes, these investments play an important role in maintaining a reliable water system for our customers. Well 25 is one of the District’s high-capacity production wells and serves a critical role in moving water throughout the community, particularly during periods of high demand.

The project will help restore and maintain reliable operations ahead of the summer season while making cost-effective use of existing infrastructure whenever possible. By inspecting, rehabilitating, and reusing serviceable equipment, the District is maximizing the value of previous investments while preparing for future needs.

“Reliable water service doesn’t happen by accident. It requires ongoing investment in the wells, pumps, and infrastructure that support our community every day,” said John Covington, BCVWD Board Member. “The Board is committed to making thoughtful investments that protect our water system, maximize the value of public resources, and ensure our customers continue to receive dependable service now and into the future.”

Projects like this are part of BCVWD’s long-term commitment to maintaining a safe, reliable, and resilient water system for the residents and businesses we serve.

Did you know…

Did you know… a small household leak can waste thousands of gallons of water each year?

A dripping faucet, a running toilet, or a small irrigation leak might not seem like a big deal, but over time, those small issues can add up to significant water loss. In fact, some common household leaks can waste enough water annually to fill a swimming pool.

The good news is that many leaks are easy to detect and fix. Checking your water meter for unexpected usage, listening for running water when fixtures aren’t in use, and routinely inspecting irrigation systems can help catch problems early.

Fixing leaks is one of the quickest and most effective ways to conserve water, and it can help lower your bill too.
