One of the strengths of our community is the partnership between residents, first responders, local law enforcement, and public agencies.

Recent fire hydrant thefts remind us that protecting our community isn’t the responsibility of one organization, it takes all of us working together.

BCVWD maintains hundreds of fire hydrants throughout our service area to support emergency response. Firefighters rely on these hydrants during emergencies, and our crews routinely inspect and maintain them to ensure they remain ready for service.

Community members also play an important role. If something doesn’t seem right around a fire hydrant, your awareness may help prevent damage before it occurs.

Reporting suspicious activity to local law enforcement is one of the easiest ways residents can help protect critical public infrastructure.

Every report matters.

If you witness suspicious activity involving a fire hydrant, do not approach the individuals involved.
