State of the City – Beaumont 2025 🌟

BCVWD is proud to support the City of Beaumont as they host this year’s State of the City in partnership with the Beaumont Chamber of Commerce. This annual event highlights innovative projects, community priorities, and the exciting progress happening across our city.

“Supporting our city is supporting our community’s future,” stated BCVWD Board President Daniel Slawson. “Water is at the heart of every project and every neighborhood, and BCVWD values the opportunity to attend this important event. The Board appreciates the City’s leadership in bringing the community together, and we thank them for hosting this gathering.”

September is National Preparedness Month, and it’s the perfect time to start conversations with your loved ones about being ready for emergencies.

💧 At Beaumont-Cherry Valley Water District, we know that water is life, and it’s one of the most critical resources to plan for during disasters. Whether it’s an earthquake, wildfire, or extended power outage, having a supply of clean water is essential to keeping your family safe and healthy.

Here are a few water preparedness tips you can use today:

• Store at least 1 gallon of water per person, per day, for a minimum of 3 days (don’t forget pets!).
• Rotate your stored water every 6 months to keep it fresh.
• Keep a small supply of bottled water in each family vehicle.
• Learn how to safely shut off your household water in case of a broken line or contamination.
• Practice water conservation during emergencies by using stored water first for drinking and cooking, and only secondarily for hygiene.

“Water is the foundation of preparedness,” stated BCVWD Board Member John Covington. “In an emergency, clean water is not guaranteed—it’s something we must plan for. That means storing water, knowing how to conserve it, and thinking about the needs of every family member, including pets and those with medical devices. Talking about it today ensures we are all better prepared tomorrow.”
