Today, more than ever, families are looking for outdoor activities as we all cope with the coronavirus pandemic. Luckily, local residents and visitors from nearby communities can turn to Bogart Regional Park for a host of adventures.
Bogart Park, located a few miles from the Noble Creek Community Center, features hundreds of acres of recreation area for people to enjoy, including camping, equestrian trails, hiking, biking, a new fishing pond, and more. The park is open Monday through Sunday from 8 a.m. to sundown.
Earlier this year, Bogart Park’s management transferred from Riverside County to Beaumont-Cherry Valley Recreation and Park District. The change is a result of a unique collaboration between the Recreation District, Riverside County and Beaumont-Cherry Valley Water District (BCVWD), which owns about 220 acres of land within the park. Local officials are aiming to make the park an attraction that appeals to visitors from around the region.
“Bogart Park holds a special place in our community, offering many outdoor opportunities for families and residents,” said President John Covington, on behalf of the BCVWD Board of Directors. “It is our hope that it also becomes a regional destination, drawing visitors from out of town to experience the beauty and recreation the park has to offer.”
The Recreation District’s new role brings opportunity for various improvements, including a new opening gate that was recently installed where visitors can pay the $10 daily entry fee with cash. An annual park pass is also available for $100.
A small ceremony and ribbon-cutting in October celebrated the future of the park and unveiled a monument honoring the regional partnership between the three organizations.
The Board of Directors and General Managers from both local agencies attended the celebration and gave remarks, as well as Riverside County’s Fifth District Supervisor, Jeff Hewitt. From BCVWD, Board President John Covington, Director Andy Ramirez and General Manager Dan Jaggers spoke in recognition of the occasion.
