National CPR & AED Awareness Week (June 1–7)

At Beaumont-Cherry Valley Water District, safety is more than a workplace priority, it is a core value. From maintaining safe working conditions for our employees to supporting emergency preparedness and safety awareness, we are committed to helping create a safer community for everyone.

As part of that commitment, District employees recently participated in CPR and AED training to strengthen their ability to respond during emergencies both in the workplace and throughout the community. Investing in employee safety training helps ensure our team is prepared when every second counts.

Safety, however, extends beyond the workplace. During National CPR & AED Awareness Week, BCVWD is proud to support efforts that promote emergency preparedness and encourage community members to learn lifesaving skills that can make a critical difference when seconds matter most.

Each year, more than 350,000 cardiac arrests occur outside of hospitals in the United States. When cardiac arrest occurs, immediate action matters. A person’s chance of survival decreases with every minute that passes without CPR or defibrillation, making bystander response a critical link in the chain of survival.

Fortunately, anyone can learn these skills. Whether it’s Hands-Only CPR, becoming CPR certified, or learning how to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), being prepared can help save the life of a family member, coworker, friend, or neighbor.

“Providing safe and reliable water service requires a strong commitment to safety at every level of our organization,” said Lona Williams, BCVWD Board President. “That commitment extends beyond our facilities and into the community. By encouraging CPR and AED awareness, we hope to help residents gain the knowledge and confidence needed to respond when an emergency occurs.”

During CPR & AED Awareness Week, we encourage our community to take a few moments to learn about CPR, locate nearby AEDs, and consider enrolling in a CPR/AED training course.
