BCVWD Recognized at ACWA Fall Conference & Expo
Vice President Andy Ramirez and Board President Lona Williams recently represented the Beaumont-Cherry Valley Water District at the Association of California Water Agencies (ACWA) Fall Conference & Expo in San Diego.
During the conference, BCVWD was honored to be selected as a finalist for ACWA’s Excellence in Innovation Award for the District’s Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI/AMR) project, a project completed fully in-house by District staff and recognized for improving operational efficiency, billing accuracy, and long-term sustainability.
As part of the finalist recognition, Vice President Ramirez was interviewed on behalf of the District and shared how the AMI project supports accurate, timely billing and strengthens system reliability.
“Being recognized at the statewide level is a reflection of the District’s commitment to responsible infrastructure investment,” said Andy Ramirez, Vice President of the Board. “While innovation is important, what matters most is ensuring our systems are reliable, our billing is accurate, and our staff has the tools they need to serve the community effectively. The Board fully supports these efforts and the continued improvement of District operations.”
Although BCVWD did not receive the award this year, the District appreciates ACWA’s consideration and congratulates Turlock Irrigation District, the 2025 Excellence in Innovation Award recipient, for its Project Nexus initiative.
The District thanks its Board of Directors for their ongoing support of critical infrastructure projects and remains committed to developing a robust, accurate, and timely billing process that serves customers and supports long-term planning.
