World Oceans Day | June 8

Today, we join communities around the world in recognizing World Oceans Day, a day dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of our oceans and the vital role water plays in sustaining life on Earth.

Although oceans may seem far removed from our daily lives, all water is connected. Rainfall, rivers, streams, groundwater, and oceans are part of a single water cycle that supports people, agriculture, wildlife, and ecosystems around the globe. What happens on land can ultimately affect waterways and, eventually, our oceans.

World Oceans Day serves as a reminder that protecting water resources starts close to home. Whether it’s using water efficiently, properly disposing of household chemicals, reducing litter, or helping prevent pollution from entering storm drains and waterways, small actions can make a difference.

At Beaumont-Cherry Valley Water District, we recognize the importance of protecting water resources and promoting responsible water stewardship. By caring for our local water supplies and supporting efforts that protect water quality, we contribute to the long-term health of the environment and future generations.

Every drop has a journey, and every effort to protect water matters.
