Need a lift during difficult times?

Need a lift during these difficult times? Area renters who have lost income due to COVID-19 could be eligible for rent and utility support through the United Lift Rental Assistance Program. Check out the video below or go to unitedlift.org to learn more.

“Many of our community members are facing financial setbacks as a result of the COVID-19 crisis,” said Board Director Andy Ramirez, on behalf of the Board of Directors. “The United Lift program provides relief to those who need it most, helping them get back on their feet after a challenging year.”

Local renters affected by COVID-19 could be eligible for rent and utility assistance

Beaumont-Cherry Valley Water District (BCVWD) customers who have been financially impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic may be eligible for support from the United Lift Rental & Utility Assistance Program. The program is run by the County of Riverside, in collaboration with Inland SoCal United Way and Lift to Rise.

United Lift is designed to keep Riverside County families and residents in their homes. Approved applicants can receive one-time assistance to cover up to 12 months of unpaid rent, plus an additional three months of future rent. Financial help is also available for past-due utility bills.

“Many of our community members are facing financial setbacks as a result of the COVID-19 crisis,” said Andy Ramirez, on behalf of the Board of Directors. “The United Lift program provides relief to those who need it most, helping them get back on their feet after a challenging year.”

To qualify, the household must have a current lease agreement, earn at or below 80 percent of area median income (AMI), and demonstrate a loss of income due to COVID-19. For more information about AMI qualifications, visit https://www.unitedlift.org/faqs.

Assistance is being given without regard to immigration status. Landlords may also initiate applications on behalf of tenants.

Supported by federal funds, United Lift launched in the summer of 2020. The Riverside County Board of Supervisors voted in February 2021 to extend the program, approving $57.3 million in emergency rental and utility assistance funding from the U.S. Department of the Treasury.
