Safety Is a Shared Responsibility

The Beaumont-Cherry Valley Water District was recently recognized by the Association of California Water Agencies Joint Powers Insurance Authority (ACWA JPIA) with three President’s Special Recognition Awards for 2025, honoring the District’s performance in General Liability, Property, and Workers’ Compensation programs.

This marks the first time the District has received all three awards in the same year, reflecting a strong commitment to safety, risk management, and responsible operations across all levels of the organization.

Safety is not limited to a single program or department, it is a shared responsibility that involves District staff, leadership, and policy direction. The Board of Directors supports investments that help provide a safe working environment, protect public resources, and reduce risk for employees and the community.

“Receiving this recognition is meaningful, but safety is something we focus on every day,” said BCVWD Board Member John Covington. “The Board supports policies and investments that promote safe operations and responsible stewardship, and we recognize that maintaining a strong safety culture requires ongoing attention, accountability, and teamwork.”

While the District is grateful for this recognition, BCVWD understands that safety is an ongoing effort. The District remains committed to continuous improvement and responsible practices to protect employees, infrastructure, and the community it serves.
