Public Hearing Reminder

We understand that any rate change can be difficult — especially during times when many families are feeling the impact of rising costs. At Beaumont-Cherry Valley Water District (BCVWD), we want to be transparent about why changes are being proposed and how your rates work.

By law, BCVWD is a cost recovery agency — meaning we are prohibited from charging more than it costs to provide water service. We are not legally allowed to make a profit. Your water rates go directly toward:
✔️ Daily operations and water treatment
✔️ Pipeline repairs and replacements
✔️ Infrastructure upgrades and system maintenance
✔️ Ensuring safe, clean, and reliable water for thousands of homes and businesses

An independent cost of service study was conducted by a third-party expert, who reviewed all of BCVWD’s financials, infrastructure needs, and future planning. Their analysis recommended the proposed rate adjustments to help us keep pace with rising costs — the same types of increases we’re all seeing in gas, electricity, insurance, and other necessities.

“We don’t take rate changes lightly,” said Board Vice President Lona Williams. “But providing water 24/7 takes more than turning on a faucet — it takes infrastructure, trained staff, and resources. These rates are an investment in the safety and reliability of your water now and into the future.”

Join us for our upcoming public hearing to discuss BCVWD’s proposed water rate changes.

📆 Date: Thursday, April 24 at 6:00 pm
📍Location: 560 Magnolia Avenue, Beaumont, CA 92223
