Bees and butterflies LOVE #drought -friendly landscapes?

#DYK Bees and butterflies LOVE #drought-friendly landscapes? Consider converting your lawn to native landscaping. Post a picture of your favorite drought-tolerant plant below👇 and visit bcvwd.org/water-conservation-tips for more outdoor conservation ideas. #ConserveWater #BCVWD

“One of the best aspects of low-water plants is enjoying the natural beauty they attract,” said Treasurer David Hoffman, on behalf of the Board of Directors. “You get to enjoy these beautiful creatures when they come to visit and conserve water at the same time.”

Reduce your outdoor water use in honor of Smart Irrigation Month!

Check sprinklers for leaks and overspray, install drip irrigation to water the roots of plants and consider using a weather-based irrigation controller. Find more outdoor conservation tips at bcvwd.org/water-conservation-tips. #SmartIrrigationMonth #BCVWD

“Watering outside makes up the majority of water use in homes,” said President Daniel Slawson, on behalf of the Board of Directors. “You can lower your water bill and help conservation efforts by making a few simple adjustments outdoors.”

Pooltime Tips!

Hang your pool towels to dry after swimming and use them a second time before washing them, saving water on that extra load of laundry. #PoolFun #ConservationTips #BCVWD

“Even small ways of conserving water can add up to make a big difference,” said Director John Covington, on behalf of the Board of Directors. “With our state’s current drought conditions, it is vital we all do our part to save.”

Help Ensure a Safe and Sustainable Water Supply

BCVWD is working to ensure a safe and sustainable water supply now and in the future by updating its Urban Water Management Plan. The document examines current and future water supplies and provides direction on how BCVWD will meet the anticipated needs of our customers over the next 20 years.

We value input from those we serve and invite the community to provide feedback on the draft plan at a public hearing on Thursday, July 22, at 6 p.m. Participants may attend the meeting in person at the BCVWD offices, 506 Magnolia Ave. in Beaumont, or virtually via Zoom.

California Drought Conditions

Did you know you can watch California drought conditions along with BCVWD? Visit droughtmonitor.unl.edu/CurrentMap/StateDroughtMonitor.aspx?CA. BCVWD has a 35-million-gallon water storage capacity, just one of the many ways we are prepared for droughts and emergencies.

“Thanks to thoughtful planning and continuous monitoring, BCVWD is prepared to meet customers’ water demands even during multiple years of extreme dry weather,” said Director Andy Ramirez, on behalf of the Beaumont Cherry Valley Water District Board of Directors.

Ditch the Plastic

Ditch the plastic bottles and grab a glass of water instead! Single-use plastics often end up in streets or oceans, harming the environment. Keep our community clean and beautiful by buying less plastic and drinking safe, reliable tap water. #PlasticFreeJuly #BCVWD

“Taking advantage of your great-tasting tap water saves money and helps the environment,” said Treasurer David Hoffman, on behalf of the Board of Directors. “Its easy to reduce plastic use by filling a glass or re-usable water bottle.”
