Stormwater Project

BCVWD and Riverside County Flood Control and Water Conservation District celebrated the completion of our joint stormwater project at a ribbon cutting yesterday!

The project will reduce area flooding and conserve runoff for future use by capturing 150 to 500 acre-feet of water annually into an underground aquifer. That’s enough water to supply as many as 900 local families for a year!

Throwback Thursday

It’s #TBT! Let’s go back to 2000 when the District’s reservoir system included only seven million gallons of storage. Since then, we’ve worked diligently to expand our water storage and delivery system. Today, the District has a 35-million-gallon storage capacity.

Our storage systems have grown alongside the flourishing community; they now support 59,000 people in both the City of Beaumont and the community of Cherry Valley.

Household Conservation Tips

When chore day hits, it’s easy to waste water without thinking. Here are a few simple water-saving tips for cleaning your house. 🧽🧹

1. Don’t let the water run while washing dishes by hand. Fill one sink with wash water and the other with rinse water.

2. Soak your pots and pans instead of letting the water run while you scrape them clean.

3. Only run your washing machine and dishwasher when they’re full — you could save 1,000 gallons a month!
