Division 3
Throwback Thursday
This #ThrowbackThursday, we’re looking back to 1984 when the Board of Directors approved the installation of BCVWD’s first computerized telemetry system to control all of the District’s wells and tank or reservoir levels. Today, a more modern and state-of-the-art telemetry system monitors and operates 23 wells and 13 reservoirs.

Happy World Environment Day! This special holiday has been celebrated by over 150 countries around the globe since 1973. This year’s theme is #GenerationRestoration and is focused on restoring our land, reducing desertification, and collectively becoming more drought resistant.
At BCVWD, we encourage you to practice water-wise habits daily to ensure that we’re preserving this precious resource whenever possible.

Conservation Tips
As the summer heat begins to roll in, you can minimize evaporation by watering during the early morning hours, when temperatures are cooler and winds are lighter. Your plants will thank you!

Edgar Canyon Wells
For this #TBT we’re looking back at the history of the Edgar Canyon Wells. During the 1920s and 1930s, 35 holes were drilled into the ground in Edgar Canyon. Today, there are 13 wells in the canyon that account for about 20-25% of the District’s current water demand.

Conservation Tips
This week, BCVWD celebrates all mothers, but don’t forget about the one we all share — Mother Nature. It’s important that we all play our part in conserving our water, and there’s plenty you can do at home. For instance, only wash your clothes when you have a full load and you can save up to 600 gallons each month.
