Flood Safety

Seasonal Weather Reminder: Stay Flood-Safe This Winter

As we move into the rainy season, we want to remind our Beaumont and Cherry Valley community to stay aware of changing weather conditions, especially in areas affected by past fires, where slopes can be more vulnerable to flooding and mudslides.

A few simple steps can help keep you and your family safe:

  • Stay alert to weather updates and local emergency alerts
  • Avoid driving or walking through flooded areas — Turn Around, Don’t Drown
  • Be aware of how runoff flows near your home, especially near hillsides
  • Keep an emergency plan and supplies ready just in case

If an emergency impacts the District, updates will be posted at https://bcvwd.gov

Your safety matters to us. Please take care, look out for one another, and stay prepared during winter storms.

Noble Pipeline

Project Complete: Strengthening Water Reliability in the 3040 Pressure Zone

We are pleased to share that the 3040 Pressure Zone Cherry Avenue / International Park Road Transmission Pipeline Project has been successfully completed and inspected by District staff. This important project, identified in the District’s long-term Capital Improvement Budget and supported in part by ARPA funding, enhances water movement and reliability within the 3040 Pressure Zone, an area experiencing continued growth and increased demand.

This new transmission pipeline improves operational flexibility, supports system resilience, and helps ensure dependable service for residents, businesses, and future development in our community.

“This pipeline makes a real difference for our community,” said Director Andy Ramirez, Board Member of the District. “It helps water move where needed, reduces strain on the water system, and ensures residents and businesses have dependable service every day.”

Infrastructure investments like this pipeline are essential to keeping our community strong. They help ensure that safe, reliable water continues to reach every household, today and for generations to come. Completing this project reflects our commitment to planning ahead, supporting growth responsibly, and maintaining the high-quality service our customers expect.

Thank you to our engineering and operations teams, our project partners, and our community for their continued support of long-term water reliability improvements.

Expanding Storage. Strengthening Reliability. Investing in Our Future.

Beaumont-Cherry Valley Water District is moving forward with plans to construct a new 2-million-gallon steel water storage tank in the 3040 Pressure Zone, located next to the existing Noble Tank. As outlined in the District’s Capital Improvement Budget, this project is designed to increase local storage capacity, improve emergency readiness, and support growing demands in areas like the expanding Sundance community.

Today, the 3040 Zone’s storage is not sufficient to meet future peak demands or emergency conditions. Adding this new tank will:

  • Improve system reliability and resiliency
  • Strengthen emergency water storage
  • Support community growth through 2040
  • Enhance service stability for homes, schools, and businesses
  • Ensure continued dependable water delivery in this important pressure zone

Although the project is being rebid, the District remains committed to moving it forward as a key investment in long-term water reliability for our community.

BCVWD Board member John Covington shared support for the project, noting that “expanding local water storage isn’t just about meeting today’s needs, it’s about preparing responsibly for tomorrow. This new tank will help ensure our residents have reliable, high-quality water during peak demand, emergencies, and continued community growth.”

We look forward to sharing updates as the project progresses.

Our New Water Truck Has Arrived!

Beaumont-Cherry Valley Water District is excited to share that the new 2,000-gallon water truck, approved as part of the 2025–2029 Capital Improvement Budget, has officially arrived. This long-planned purchase strengthens our ability to maintain system reliability, improve response capabilities, and support key construction and maintenance projects across our potable and non-potable systems.

The water truck will play an important role in dust control, mainline and hydrant flushing, construction support, emergency preparedness, and fire protection assistance, especially in remote areas where access to hydrants is limited. Having this equipment in-house also reduces the District’s reliance on rental units, improving efficiency and lowering long-term operational costs.

BCVWD Board Member John Covington noted that “purchases like this water truck directly strengthen the reliability of our water system and the safety of our community. Our crews work in demanding conditions, and having dependable, modern equipment allows them to do their jobs safely and effectively. This investment reflects the District’s long-term commitment to planning responsibly and making sure our team has the support they need to protect public health and maintain essential services.”

We’re proud to continue investing in reliable, cost-effective equipment that directly supports service to our 22,000+ customers. To learn more about District operations and planning efforts, visit https://bcvwd.gov.

Groundbreaking

Supporting Regional Projects That Benefit Our Community

BCVWD is proud to support our regional partners at the San Gorgonio Pass Water Agency (SGPWA) on the groundbreaking of the County Line Road Recharge Basin and Turnout Project. Our General Manager and Director of Engineering attended the event to show our appreciation for collaborative efforts that strengthen long-term water reliability for our region.

Projects like this, led jointly by SGPWA, San Bernardino Valley Municipal Water District (SBVMWD), and South Mesa Water Company (SMWC), help enhance groundwater replenishment, increase local supply flexibility, and support the future water needs of Beaumont, Cherry Valley, and neighboring communities.

Regional collaboration benefits all of us, and we are grateful for the shared commitment to building a more resilient water future.
