Backflow Testing Reminder

Protecting water quality is one of Beaumont-Cherry Valley Water District’s highest priorities. One of the ways we do that is through our annual backflow prevention testing program.

Earlier this year, BCVWD mailed backflow testing notices to customers with required backflow prevention devices, including many commercial properties, multi-family communities, irrigation systems, fire sprinkler systems, and other specialized water connections.

What is backflow?

Backflow occurs when an unexpected change in water pressure causes water to flow in the opposite direction. When that happens, water from a property could potentially enter back into the public water supply, creating a possible health risk. Backflow prevention devices are designed to stop that from happening and help protect the safety of our drinking water.

Annual testing helps verify that these devices are functioning properly and continue to provide protection for both the property owner and the community’s water system.

Testing reports were due June 1, 2026. Customers who have not yet submitted their completed test results may receive a reminder notice in the coming weeks.

Questions about your backflow device or testing requirements? Please reach out to backflow@bcvwd.gov or call our office at (951) 845-9581.

Thank you for helping us protect safe, reliable drinking water for our community.
