  1. Shorten your showers – Reducing your shower time by just 2 minutes can save up to 5 gallons of water!
  2. Turn off the tap – Whether brushing your teeth or washing dishes, turning off the faucet while not in use saves water.
  3. Check your irrigation – Make sure sprinklers are only watering your plants, not sidewalks or driveways.

Small actions make a big difference! Let’s work together to protect our most precious resource.

National Preparedness Month

National Preparedness Month is here! September is a reminder to prepare for emergencies, and this year’s theme, “Start a Conversation,” encourages us to discuss disaster preparedness with our loved ones.

At Beaumont-Cherry Valley Water District, we know how essential water is in any emergency. Being ready means having a plan and enough water for your family. Visit Ready.gov for multilingual preparedness toolkits and resources to keep you, your family, and your community safe.

Water Conservation

Water is one of our most precious resources, and every drop counts! Here are some easy ways to conserve water every day:

  • Fix leaky faucets and pipes – even a small drip can waste up to 20 gallons a day.
  • Use a broom instead of a hose to clean driveways and sidewalks.
  • When using your dishwasher or washing machine, make sure to run full loads. This maximizes water efficiency and reduces the number of cycles you need to run, saving both water and energy.

Together, we can make a difference in preserving our water supply for future generations. Let’s all do our part to conserve water, one drop at a time!

Extreme Heat Alert

As temperatures soar, it’s crucial to stay hydrated and conserve water. During extreme heat, water demand spikes, but it’s important to use water wisely. Here are some tips to help you beat the heat while conserving water:

• Water your lawn early in the morning or late in the evening to reduce evaporation.
• Take shorter showers to save water and energy.
• Keep a pitcher of water in the fridge instead of letting the tap run until it’s cool. Let’s work together to stay cool and conserve water during these hot summer days!

BCVWD Receives Recognition For LIHWAP participation.

In August 2024, Beaumont-Cherry Valley Water District (BCVWD) received recognition for participation in a County of Riverside (County) program called the Low Income Household Water Assistance Program (LIHWAP). The program was available from June 2022 to March 2024, and by participating, the District helped provide critical financial relief to customers struggling to keep up with their utility bills, particularly those impacted by the economic effects of the pandemic.

As a result, many residents were able to avoid service disconnections, reduce overdue balances, and maintain continuous access to safe water.

During the program period, Customer Service processed $46,698.48 in payments through LIHWAP, assisting 150 account holders avoid disconnection of service. Additionally, during the same timeframe, Customer Service assisted 218 customers with payment plans totaling $148,930.08. These plans helped customers with large or past-due balances maintain water service while still fulfilling their payment obligations.

Although LIHWAP ended in March 2024, the County continues to work with legislators to secure funding at the State and/or Federal level. District staff continues to work with customers who may be struggling with their bills through payment plan options.
