Celebrating the People Behind Your Water
Every time you turn on the tap, there is a team of water professionals working behind the scenes to make sure water is there when you need it.
October 3–11 is Water Professionals Appreciation Week, an opportunity to recognize the dedicated people who provide safe, reliable water service to communities throughout California.
At Beaumont-Cherry Valley Water District, providing water to more than 64,000 people takes employees with many different skills and responsibilities. Some operate and maintain wells, reservoirs, pipelines and other critical infrastructure. Others monitor water quality, plan and oversee construction projects, assist customers, maintain technology and cybersecurity systems, manage finances and human resources, and perform the administrative work necessary to keep the District operating every day.
While customers may see some of our employees working in the field or assisting them at the District office, much of the work required to provide reliable water service happens quietly behind the scenes.
“Reliable water service depends on dedicated people doing important work every day,” stated BCVWD Board Member Daniel Slawson. “Water Professionals Appreciation Week gives us an opportunity to recognize our employees and thank them for the knowledge, commitment and public service they bring to our community.”
Water Professionals Appreciation Week was established by the California Legislature in 2017 to recognize the important role water professionals play in providing safe and reliable water, wastewater and recycled water services throughout the state.
Throughout the week, we encourage our customers to join us in recognizing the people who help keep our community’s water flowing.
Thank you to BCVWD’s water professionals for everything you do!
