Preparedness Starts with Training

Safety and preparedness are important parts of serving our community.

On August 13, Beaumont-Cherry Valley Water District staff participated in hands-on fire safety training led by the Idyllwild Fire Protection District. The training combined classroom instruction with live demonstrations, giving employees an opportunity to learn and practice how to respond safely to different types of small fires.

During the training, employees practiced using fire extinguishers, fire blankets, and even baking soda to safely put out small fires in a controlled environment. These hands-on exercises helped employees better understand which response may be appropriate in different situations and gave them practical experience they can carry into an emergency.

Why is this training important? Emergencies can happen anywhere, including the workplace. Providing employees with practical safety training helps build confidence, reinforces a culture of preparedness, and supports a safer environment for employees and visitors.

“Being prepared starts with giving our employees the knowledge and training they need to respond when it matters,” stated BCVWD Board Member John Covington. “We appreciate the Idyllwild Fire Protection District for sharing their expertise and helping strengthen a culture of safety and preparedness at the District.”

BCVWD extends our sincere thanks to the Idyllwild Fire Protection District for once again sharing their time, knowledge, and expertise with our employees. Partnerships with local first responders provide valuable opportunities for our team to learn from the professionals who work every day to help keep our communities safe.

Thank you to the Idyllwild Fire Protection District and to first responders throughout our region for all you do!
