Fire Hydrants Are There for a Reason

Fire hydrants are more than just another part of the water system. They are critical infrastructure designed to provide firefighters with access to water when it’s needed during an emergency.

Unauthorized use of a hydrant can result in water loss, damage to the hydrant or surrounding water system, and additional work for District employees who must inspect the hydrant and address any problems that may have occurred.

Protecting our hydrants helps make sure they are available and ready to do the job they were designed to do.

If you see suspicious activity around a BCVWD hydrant, don’t approach or confront anyone.
