🚨 COMMUNITY ALERT: FIRE HYDRANT THEFTS 🚨

Beaumont-Cherry Valley Water District is asking for the community’s help as we respond to the ongoing theft of fire hydrants in our service area.

Fire hydrants are critical public infrastructure paid for by our ratepayers. When someone steals a hydrant, they are stealing from the entire community and potentially affecting the availability of essential equipment during an emergency.

The District is actively inventorying hydrants and installing additional protections wherever possible. However, the individuals responsible appear to be taking steps to avoid detection. They may be shutting off valves before removing hydrants so water does not flow into the street, and the thefts may be occurring at night or in areas with limited traffic.

Please help protect the hydrants in your neighborhood:

• Keep an eye on nearby hydrants and report suspicious activity.
• Where practical, position Ring doorbells or security cameras so nearby hydrants are visible.
• If you notice a missing or damaged hydrant, email info@bcvwd.gov and report it to law enforcement.
• Check your camera footage to determine whether the incident was captured, and preserve any relevant recordings.
• Do not confront suspicious individuals. Contact law enforcement and observe from a safe location.

If you see something, say something.

Working together, we can help protect the public infrastructure that belongs to all of us. #BCVWD #BeaumontCA #CherryValleyCA #CommunityAlert #PublicSafety #SeeSomethingSaySomething
