Water District Demonstrates Financial Prowess Adding Awards to its Collection
Beaumont, CA — Beaumont-Cherry Valley Water District (BCVWD) recently received two awards from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) and the California Society of Municipal Finance Officers (CSMFO) for exceptional fiscal accountability and planning.
GFOA’s Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting marks the sixth year in a row that BCVWD has been awarded for demonstrating consistent financial acumen, while maintaining complete transparency for its customers. It is the highest form of recognition for governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.
“Receiving this award continues to be a major accomplishment and exemplifies our finance team’s diligence and attention to detail. We are committed to maintaining this standard and serving our community now and for the future,” said Board Vice President Daniel Slawson.
CSMFO’s Operating Budget Excellence award was granted for the fourth time to BCVWD, recognizing its fiscal planning for 2024.

Beaumont-Cherry Valley Water District was formed in 1919 and is governed by a publicly elected five-member Board of Directors. BCVWD is an independent special district that provides water service to 59,000 customers in a 28-square-mile service area.
