Beaumont-Cherry Valley has seen an increase in backflow device thefts.
Although each customer is responsible for the maintenance and annual testing of each device, the impact of a stolen backflow directly impacts the water system that the District maintains and could create a health hazard.
If it is found that your device has been stolen or is missing, in order to meet the health requirements of the State and the District’s backflow program, BCVWD will be locking the water service off until the backflow device is replaced and tested. BCVWD will not be charging for the water service to be restored however, in the event of a cut lock there will be a cut lock fee and administration fees before water service can resume.
To have the water service restored for backflow testing, please call the District office at (951) 845-9581 to schedule an appointment.
Beaumont-Cherry Valley Water District is committed to providing safe, reliable drinking water to the community. One of the ways we protect our supply is by ensuring water is not contaminated by backflow from private properties into the BCVWD system. Some properties within the District’s service area are required to have backflow prevention devices. Properties requiring backflow protection could have one device, and others may need more than one. Customers are responsible for professionally installing backflow prevention devices, maintaining them and replacing them if needed.

The Beaumont-Cherry Valley Water District Cross-Connection Control Program (CCCP) has been designed in accordance with Titles 17 and 22 of the California Code of Regulations and includes cross-connection surveys, annual testing requirements, on-site and tester audits, mailed notifications, and required reporting.

You will be contacted by a cross-connection specialist to get additional information about your property and to schedule an on-site visit. If an appointment is needed, it will be scheduled during the normal business hours of the District main office. After the cross-connection survey is complete, you will be contacted in writing with the findings, along with installation information.
