Public Records Request
The District provides access to public records in accordance with the California Public Records Act, Government Code section 7920.000 et seq.
Public records are open to inspection during the District's regular office hours, except for records or portions of records exempt from disclosure by law. Any reasonably segregable nonexempt portion of a record will be made available after deletion or redaction of exempt material.
The District may withhold or redact records when the record is exempt under express provisions of law or when, on the facts of the particular case, the public interest served by not disclosing the record clearly outweighs the public interest served by disclosure, consistent with Government Code section 7922.000.
Requests for copies of identifiable public records will be processed in accordance with the California Public Records Act. The District may charge fees authorized by law, including fees covering the direct cost of duplication or any applicable statutory fee. For records maintained in electronic format, the District will provide nonexempt records in an electronic format when required by law. Fees for electronic records will be limited to those authorized by the California Public Records Act, including Government Code sections 7922.570 and 7922.575, where applicable.
Within 10 calendar days after receipt of a request for copies of records, the District will determine whether the request, in whole or in part, seeks disclosable public records in the District's possession and will notify the requester of that determination, the reasons for the determination, and the estimated date and time when disclosable records will be made available. In unusual circumstances, the District may extend the time to make this determination by written notice as authorized by Government Code section 7922.535.
